THE TOP 5 WAYS TO USE YOUR MATERNITY PHOTOS
Maternity sessions used to be few and far between, but today more and more women are using these sessions to celebrate their power and the arrival of their little one. Which I, of course, think is awesome because it's a great way to remember who you are before you are before you are ‘Mom’. While your maternity photos will most likely be used for social media posts, there are so many other ways to put those amazing images you’ve invested in to use! Don’t let your images die on a USB or in your camera roll. So, here's a few of my favorite ideas to put those gorgeous images to use.
1. BABY SHOWER DÉCOR
It’s an event to celebrate you and your partner before your baby arrives, why not stand center stage at your party?! If your session is scheduled in time, you can have your images printed and mounted for display to welcome your guests and share your maternity session with your friends and family.
2. TURN THEM INTO A GUEST BOOK/COFFEE BOOK
Speaking of your baby shower, you can turn your images into a guest book your guests can sign leaving encouraging notes/advice on parenting and what to expect while sharing in this moment with you. Your friends and family can share their love with you and you’ll have another keepsake you can flip through for years to come, even showing your baby how excited everyone was for them to come into the world!
3. THANK YOU CARDS
Well wishers have showered you with gifts and well wishes and one of the best ways to show your appreciation is with a Thank You card, but not just any plain card. Use one of your favorite images from your shoot to share your thanks.
4. CREATE A LEGACY WALL
That blank wall in your living room you can’t think of what to do with? Turn it into a family gallery wall! From your maternity session with me you’ve already received matted, fine art prints ready for framing. While you can display them from your folio box either on your coffee table or shelf, you can also choose a few for your walls in the home. Sourcing beautiful frames can help them stand out and set them tone of building your legacy wall with your one of your first family photoshoots.
5. BEGIN YOUR BABY BOOK
This can be either a physical printed book or digital. A creative way of sharing these moments with your baby if you’ve already decided on a name is to start and email address for them and send them email messages about how you were feeling, looking, and thinking during those early days. When you finally give them their password, they can log in and find messages from mom and dad that shows them how loved they were from the very beginning.
Bonus Tip for Photoshoot Day: Plan for a date night or girls’ night out for after your shoot, your hair and makeup will be done, and you’ll look and feel absolutely beautiful. Take ALL the selfies and make the most of your day!
